Story so far
The party reached Halvern, a wilderness settlement whose inhabitants had mysteriously vanished. A map led them to hunting gear and a silvery liquid in a clearing, then to a cave where an image of an elk god wept the same liquid. On their return, a druid with a mushroom growing from his ear warned Ramses to leave the wilderness. Back in Halvern, they joined the Iron Patrol, mercenaries of the Kalvar Trade Union, and discovered a druidic ritual beside a great tree.
Villagers slept in seed pods around the tree. Eager for battle, Kimbo charged a pod and killed Eira inside. The druids admitted to imprisoning the villagers for slaughtering the forest’s gods. Muradin attacked, and with the Iron Patrol’s help, the party defeated the druids and freed nearly a dozen captives. Against Kimbo’s wishes, Viru burned a magically glowing elk calf at the tree’s foot; Kimbo salvaged a piece of antler. Back in Halvern, village leader Corrin entrusted the party with a shipment for Drennholm camp. That night, an exhausted dwarf staggered into the tavern, told Viru, “They’re following me,” and collapsed. No one was visible outside.
The Missing Camp
The party reached the deserted settlement of Halvern and investigated locations marked on a map, where Hector found a glowing amulet in a cave. A druid warned Ramses to leave the wilderness. Joining the Iron Patrol, the party followed Kimbo and Ramses to druids performing a ritual beside a tree surrounded by seed pods.
Seed Pods and the Elk Calf’s Pyre
Halvern’s missing villagers were found inside the pods of a druidic ritual. The party fought the druids, freed nearly a dozen people, and burned the druids’ bodies. Eira died. Back at the tavern, the party received a shipment bound for Drennholm, and a wounded dwarf arrived with someone on his trail.
