The agreement for using SummaryWizard
Terms of Service
Effective date:
SummaryWizard turns tabletop roleplaying recordings into transcripts and session recaps. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we ask of you.
The essentials: accounts are for adults, everyone recorded must give permission, and AI recaps need your review. You keep your content. Paid credits are one-time purchases through Paddle. Your mandatory consumer rights always apply.
1. Who we are
SummaryWizard is operated by Ratkomo Development Oy (“we”, “us”), a Finnish company, Business ID (Y-tunnus) 3650858-6.
Nassakkakuja 6 F02230 Espoo, Finland
support@summarywizard.com
These terms govern your use of our website and app. By creating an account, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled; it is not a request for blanket consent to processing.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, but not for losses that applicable law makes our responsibility.
If you use SummaryWizard for an organization, you must have authority to agree to these terms on its behalf. Our ordinary service is intended for tabletop gaming; contact us before using it for work that requires a separate data processing agreement or special confidentiality commitments.
3. Recordings and acceptable use
Before recording or uploading, obtain permission from everyone recorded to record them and have the recording transcribed and summarized by SummaryWizard and its service providers. Explain how the recording will be used and share our Privacy Policy. Where a participant is a minor, obtain any required parent or guardian permission. Follow the recording, privacy and other laws that apply to you and the participants.
Only upload material you have the right to use. Do not use SummaryWizard to:
- Record people secretly, violate privacy or confidentiality, or infringe copyright or other rights.
- Upload unlawful material, exploitative content, malware, or material intended to facilitate real-world harm.
- Bypass access controls, interfere with the service, access another person’s campaigns, or misuse trials, payments or refunds.
Fictional events in a roleplaying game are not, by themselves, real-world misconduct. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information, such as real medical information or financial credentials. We may refuse or stop processing content when necessary to protect people, comply with law or enforce these terms.
4. Your content and AI output
You retain your rights in recordings, campaign details, transcripts and other material you provide. You give us a limited permission to store, process, transmit and reproduce that material only as needed to provide, secure and support the service, handle your requests and comply with law. This includes using the providers described in our Privacy Policy. It does not give us permission to publish your private campaign material or use it in advertising.
As between you and us, you may use the generated recaps and other output, and we assign to you any rights we may have in that output to the extent permitted by law. AI output may not qualify for copyright protection, may resemble other output, and may contain material subject to someone else’s rights.
Transcripts, speaker labels, titles and recaps are generated using AI. They can omit, invent or misinterpret details. Review them before relying on or sharing them. SummaryWizard is a gaming aid, not a source of professional advice or a guaranteed verbatim record.
We do not use your recordings, transcripts or recaps to train our own AI models. Provider training and retention practices are explained in our Privacy Policy. If you separately opt in to our use of feedback as a testimonial, that permission applies to the feedback you submit, not your campaign library. Contact us to withdraw permission for future testimonial use.
Our software, branding and website design remain ours or our licensors’. Keep your own copies of outputs you want to preserve; uploaded recordings are temporary processing files, not an audio archive.
5. Credits and payments
Paid processing time is sold as prepaid credit packs. These are one-time purchases, with no subscription or automatic renewal. Prices, currency, taxes and the amount of credit are shown before you pay. Purchased credits currently have no scheduled expiry. They belong to your account, cannot be transferred or resold, and are not money or withdrawable cash, except where refund rights apply.
Processing uses the combined duration of a session’s recordings, rounded up once to the next whole minute. We may reserve credits while a job is running, then reconcile them to the processing result. Failed jobs release their reservation; retries do not charge again for the same completed work. Contact support if a deduction appears incorrect.
The app explains any additional credit cost before you request a chargeable action. Currently, each session includes ten successful magic edits; further successful edits use one minute of credit each. Failed edits do not use the included allowance.
We may offer a first-session trial subject to eligibility, duration limits and available capacity. A trial is not an ongoing entitlement or a cash credit. Repeated accounts to obtain additional trials are not allowed. A trial does not automatically become a paid purchase.
Paddle is our merchant of record and authorized reseller. Paddle sells the paid credit packs to you and handles checkout, payment, applicable sales taxes, receipts and payment-related customer support. Your purchase is also governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. These SummaryWizard terms govern the app service we provide. Paddle’s terms do not remove your rights against us where the law gives you those rights.
6. Refund policy
Purchases follow Paddle’s Refund Policy and all applicable mandatory consumer rights. We do not offer a separate unconditional money-back guarantee. Requests outside statutory entitlements or Paddle’s policy are reviewed case by case, taking account of matters such as technical failures, duplicate purchases and credit usage.
How to request a refund or withdraw
Use the support link in your Paddle receipt or visit Paddle’s buyer support portal. Where available for your purchase, you can also use its withdrawal function. You may contact us at support@summarywizard.com with your account email, purchase reference and the problem. Do not send card details. We will help resolve service issues and coordinate any refund with Paddle, which processes the payment reversal.
Consumer rights
Depending on your location and the type of purchase, you may have a statutory withdrawal period, including a 14-day period under applicable European consumer law. Rules for starting digital services or supplying digital content during that period differ. Any loss of a withdrawal right or proportionate charge for service already supplied applies only when the relevant legal conditions, including any required express request, consent and acknowledgement, are met. These terms alone do not waive those rights.
Rights relating to a defective, misdescribed or undelivered service continue to apply independently of a change-of-mind refund policy. Nothing here limits a refund or other remedy required by law.
What happens to credits
When a payment is refunded or reversed, the associated credits are removed. If they have already been spent, the account may show a negative credit balance and further paid processing may be unavailable. This does not automatically charge your payment method or remove statutory rights. Closing your account does not itself submit a refund request; you can still request a refund with your purchase reference after closure.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but processing can be delayed or interrupted by maintenance, demand, provider failures or security measures. Published upload and processing limits apply. Features identified as testing, preview or staging may change more frequently. A sandbox checkout does not take a real payment when it is identified as such; recordings submitted to a test environment may still be processed by our AI providers.
We may make reasonable changes to improve the service or respond to technical, legal or security needs. We will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially disadvantage existing paid users, unless urgent action is necessary. New purchase prices will not retroactively change credits already bought. Where a change or discontinuation entitles you to terminate or receive a remedy under law, those rights apply; contact us about unused paid credits if we discontinue the paid service.
8. Closing or suspending an account
You can stop using SummaryWizard at any time. Request account deletion through Account settings where available, or email support. Deletion ends account access and removes its content through our deletion process, subject to the retention exceptions in our Privacy Policy. Download anything you want to keep first. Unused credits become inaccessible after deletion, subject to your refund rights.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, non-payment, fraud, security risk or legal obligation. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to resolve it or challenge an error by contacting support. We may act immediately where notice would create a risk or be unlawful. Any refund or remedy required by law remains available.
9. Our responsibility
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise that AI output will be accurate, unique or suitable for every purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted. These limitations do not exclude legal requirements for digital services or any other mandatory consumer protection.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct or gross negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory remedies and applicable liability protections remain in force.
If you use the service in a business capacity, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for SummaryWizard in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. The exceptions in the preceding paragraph still apply.
10. Law, complaints and updates
Finnish law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in your country of residence where applicable law provides them. There is no mandatory arbitration requirement.
Please first contact support@summarywizard.com about a complaint. Finnish consumers can seek help from Consumer Advisory Services and refer an unresolved dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board. Consumers elsewhere may also use applicable local complaint and dispute-resolution services. These options do not prevent you from going to court.
We may update these terms for changes in the service or applicable law. We will publish the revised text and date and give appropriate advance notice of material changes through the app or an account notice. Changes will not retroactively take away rights from earlier purchases. If a proposed change requires your agreement by law, we will obtain it.
